True Blood

Has anyone discovered the odd, but unusually addictive tv show True Blood yet? I have to say the first episode shocked and kinda disgusted me, but yet drew me in. The show is created by Alan Ball and is based on the books Sooky Stackhouse written by Charlaine Harris.

The show is set in Bon Temps Louisiana, and is a Vampire genre type of tv show with a completely different take on the whole genre. It stars X-Men's Anna Paquin as Sooky Stackhouse. I find the show refreshing and completely unique, but I will admit, it did take me some time to warm up to it, but now that I have, I'm in love with the show and the writing is absolutely superb in it, the stoylines are fresh and the show has so much intriguing storylines. Be warned though, it has alot of adult scenes in it, so more suited to any Deadwood fans, but is laced with lots of humour and awesome characters, definitely worth a look I think. xox

I read the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series and I thought it was pretty good so I watched True Blood on line and I thought it was great! I agree the first episode did shock me a bit - there are some pretty graphic scenes involving Jason through most of the series. It follows the book pretty closely and I'm looking forward to season 2 which I think is due to start airing in the US this summer. Apparently Channel 4 have just got the rights to season 1 in the UK and will be airing it later this year. Yay

For starters, I'm sooooo loving your little avatar dude, his so cute! But back to True Blood, I so adore Jason's character! Yes, he is a rather naughty chap hehehe, but his character is so adorable tho! The show just rocks, although I will admit, never read any of the books, but I always planned to at some point though, but I am more of a comic lover.

I can't wait for the second series too, its gonna be stomping!!

I'm so glad they got rid of the original actress who played Tara in the original pilot, she just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason, Rutina Wesley does a much better job I thought. xox

I love True Blood & I can't wait for the second season either. My favourite character has to be Bill - I love his sexy southern accent but I think Sam is so sweet too and kinda sexy with it

I think the new Tara does a much better job too - I saw the leaked pilot online but when I saw the official version I thought Rutina was much better in the role.

Eric is pretty hot too, doncha think? I hear he makes things awkward for Bill and Sookie in the next season
